Free H1N1 vaccinations available at Tri-County Health Department offices

More than 6,000 free H1N1 vaccinations were given at the six flu clinics hosted by School District 27J in November and December.  Tri-County Health Department is now encouraging all residents to get the H1N1 vaccine.  No more school-based clinics are planned, but residents of Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties can get free H1N1 vaccinations by appointment by calling 303-451-0123.  Tri-County Health is offering vaccination appointments at their Aurora, Castle Rock, Englewood and Northglenn offices.  Check the Tri-County website, www.tchd.org, for more information.

PREVENTION TIPS
With the help of CDC materials, the district has prepared a flier of “Action Steps” to take to prevent the spread of all flu strains.

Action Steps for Parents to Protect their Family from the Flu   English

Pasos que los padres pueden sequir para proteger a sus hijos y su familia contra la gripe durante este ciclo escolar    Espanol

These tips augment the 27J procedures developed last April in response to the Swine Flu. Those procedures remain in effect.

The district will monitor the situation throughout the season and will keep you apprised of additional information as appropriate. Messages will be distributed through several avenues including the Web pages, phone messages, e-mails and print and broadcast media.
