Security Screening for School Visitors Helps Keep Kids Safe
Bring Your ID to Enter Schools
A new visitor screening system is being implemented at our schools to help improve safety and security for students and staff. When visiting the school, if you will need to go past the main office, you will be asked for a photo ID. The new system will scan the information on the ID, perform a security screening, and print a visitor badge with photo.
The system takes drivers licenses and identification cards from all 50 states, US passport cards, military IDs and many other forms of identification. If your ID is expired or has been lost, please take the steps needed to get a current ID. We will have alternate steps in place for contingencies, but you will avoid delays if you present a valid ID for screening.
This system is an initial step being taken by School District 27J to improve school safety and security. I will be keeping you informed about other changes that will make our school safer for everyone.

Implementaremos un nuevo sistema de registro para los visitantes con el motivo de aumentar la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y personal escolar. Cuando usted visite nuestra escuela, usted necesita ir a la oficina principal, donde le pedirán que presente una identificación con foto. El sistema nuevo escanea la información en su identificación y hace una revisión de seguridad para después imprimir un gafete de visitante con su foto.
El sistema acepta, entre otro tipo de identificaciones, las licencias de conductor e identificaciones orifícales de los 50 estados, tarjetas del pasaporte de los EE.UU. e identificaciones militares. Si su identificación ya no es vigente, la perdió o extravío, le pedimos que haga lo necesario para que la remplace. Pasos alternativos serán implementados para situaciones especiales, pero esto demorará su entrada.
